Very good documentary. I noticed O'Neal was listed as an executive producer, wonder how that worked -- was that a carrot to get him to talk? Or was he involved from the outset?

Sourcing was very good, Rick Carlisle was maybe the one person I'd have liked to hear from but didn't. Maybe he's not touching that while he's still coaching.

Brooklyn 99 is back for its final season - just 10 eps, two a week.

New Ted Lasso episode is just terrible. The magic is gone.

Also, it seems something happened during the off-season that basically relegated Coach Beard to sub-minor character with less than zero impact. They're also quietly writing the season around Keeley and Roy Kent and last night turned the sexy meter on Keeley up to a thousand.

Mark Maron has Sterlin Harjo on his podcast this week.

That first episode tried to thread so many needles. But a great moment by Braugher at the end.

Disagree. The Higgins family scene was beyond sweet. It a schmaltzy show and this episode might be a little early for the extra schmaltz of a Christmas show, but there was enough hint of dark in the Ted scenes to keep it compelling.

He's not dynamic enough of a character to give him 20 of the 30 minutes. And it's not that it was schmaltzy, it's that there was no heart and soul to it.

Not to fucking mention, there's not a single Jew on the team? Or in the organization?

Not a single Hanukkah reference? That's what makes Ted Lasso Ted Lasso -- the little drive-by references.

It's like they wanted to do this episode last season but couldn't find room in the schedule so why not do it in August this season!

I've always thought there is an awful sadness beneath his surface that when it comes out will be glorious TV; that's the hope, anyway.

I’m 100% convinced that we learn that Ted’s dad killed himself.

I might have missed that line in real time but it's also a pretty obscure way to talk about the chosen people. (EDIT: I assume you were saying that and that it wasn't actually said in the episode. If so, you should be writing for the show.)

Anyway, they missed an opportunity to include Hanukkah in the festivities. Maybe Brett Goldstein is a Jew in circumcision only.
