Diamondbacks’ Tyler Gilbert just no-hit the Padres.

Narrator: it wasn't his major league debut.

    Funniest three names possible.

    Bumpus. Jones.

    Bobo. Holloman.

On MLB Network, Yonder Alonso read Holloman’s name as Boo Boo, not Bo-Bo.

I think I met a Booboo Holloman at my uncle’s place in Detroit one time.

Tigers give Drew Hutchison the start today. His first appearance in the bigs since 2018.

    Hilarity ensues.

In "Veeck as in Wreck," Bill Veeck recounted that the St. Louis Browns were all set to ship Bobo Holloman out
to the minors literally within a day or so of the no-hitter, but that became impossible because it was pretty much the only bright spot for the Browns that season.

Of course Veeck wanted to turn the whole thing into a promotional event, so next time Holloman was set to
pitch he staged a huge ceremony to give him gifts for the no-hitter. Most of the gifts were "donated" by sponsors, but one was not; a 30-foot $10,000 sailboat.

Veeck said Holloman's no-no was one of the most amazing ever because almost every out was a rocket shot hit straight at somebody.

Holloman was out of the majors a couple of months later. In his next start,
following the pregame awards ceremony, he didn't last an inning,
Being a farm boy from the flatlands of Georgia, maybe he was distracted trying to figure out what the hell he was going to do with a 30-foot sailboat.
