Looking at BR, that was his fifth appearance and first start of the season. He also went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
He finished the season 3-7 with 10 starts and 22 appearances, the last on July 19. He never pitched in the majors again after that.
Gotta love baseball. A guy who sucked and washed out of the majors within three months, still has a unique place in the game's history.

So he was the Armando Galarraga ... only WITH a no-hitter.

Well whatever isn't happening today, it isn't happening in Detroit.

That's why I can't see what's happening. I'm at the wrong damn stadium.

I’m 37 and I’ve still yet to see an Indian throw a no-hitter.

Everybody, including guys who just got called up now throw no-hitters….except for the team that’s produced five Cy Young winning seasons in the last 14 seasons.

    You've got about six weeks.
Then you'll have to be satisfied when a Guardian does it.
How weird is this season? Two historically awful teams, Orioles and Dbacks, both have no-hitters to celebrate in 2021.

The 1952 Detroit Tigers lost 104 games. Of the 50 wins, two were no-hitters, both thrown by Virgil Trucks, who went 5-19 that season.

Trucks was traded during the offseason to the Browns for 1953, then traded in June to the White Sox. He won 20 games.

    Baseball is freakishly weird.

I once got Virgil Trucks' autograph along with an offer to buy his self published bio. He also stamped cartoon fire trucks on the letter.
