How many people watch his show? Two million? Three? Out of a nation of 300m?

Besides, wouldn’t Colbert viewers be the much-hated Cools?

Aldi has cheese at right around $3 for a block or a bag, but that’s a rock-bottom price. You’d need to get a small canister of coffee at that price, but it’s doable.

My mom encouraged me to try Aldi when I was strapped for cash a few years ago. I went, 3 or 4 times, and never bought ONE DAMN THING. Something about their merchandise, not what you see at Publix and Albertsons and The Krogers.

    I basically said, FD.

They probably are. Nevertheless, they knew about the party.

Lots of people did. Millions and millions and millions of people who don't watch Fox News.

I was responding to your post about the 99%, see. That the Cools know about it hurts your argument.

Except it didn’t. I said 99% of the people who don’t watch Fox don’t know about it. You cited a show that around 0.7% of the population watches.

Hell, my Twitter feed is filled with political writers. The party was not on my radar until this kerfuffle with Dowd’s column. It’s a non-issue to 99% of normal, non-Fox addicts. Sheesh, this discussion should be on the addicted to outrage thread. Because that’s all it is. Dude had a party. They followed CDC guidelines. There’s no reason to get red-assed about it.

But if you need to spike the football and taunt ThE CoOlS about Obama’s party being bad optics, then feel free. But aside from Dowd and the GOP, nobody really gives a tinker’s damn.

Saturday a week ago my son was married. Over 100 people at the boathouse at Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Everybody vaccinated, all NYC guidelines (there were none) followed. Lots of conviviality in a semi-crowded, semi-outdoor setting. Anyone who objects can go fuck themselves. I'm nobody, so my optics can be as bad as I want. IMO "optics" is a synonym for "bullshit."

I bought a block of cheese at Aldi once. It had no taste at all. Straight into the garbage can.

Haven't been back to Aldi since. With no recognizable brands, it's hard to tell what's good and what's not.

Get the basics at Aldi. I just get microwaveable rice packets (quick lunch), eggs and milk there.

Yeah, we gets the staples and then augment at Kroger, a local meat shop and the farmer’s market. Their riced cauliflower and frozen broccoli florets are insanely cheap and good. They make a greek yogurt with berry flavor that is better than Chobani. The seasonings and spices are absolutely fine. The eggs and milk are fine. Their produce and meats are not great.

I also think people have a mental block because of the packaging. They’ve convinced themselves of the quality of brands and it cannot be shaken.

But you know the "optics" are always considered worse when it's a democrat, and they're especially bad when it's the black Democrat. Because uppity.

On myself could not give a flying f*** what Obama does for his birthday his wife's birthday or his children's birthday.

I also don't care what Bush does

Yeah. I'm the football spiker around here.

Your insistence that people don't know is frankly odd. But it's SOP for this place. Anything that legitimately reflects poorly on the blue team doesn't matter - heck, isn't even known! So we'd better not talk about it!

Sounds like the GOP since Donald Wildmon's heyday.

Am I the only one who thinks Big Red looks like a big dong from the back?

He's always inhabited by that one cousin who forgot to duck when the thresher went by.

Close, but no. We, meaning progressives and lefties like me scream SUPASPEADER! when Republicans gather. But when Obama does it, he's just some guy and we need to LEAVE BARRY ALONE!

Aldi is a mixed bag. Go for their chocolates, good cheese, and coffee. Most of their other stuff? I wouldn't brown bag it to go watch dogs fuck. (Stick taps to whoever wrote Burglar for that one.)

    1.) Congratulations!
2.) You're not an ex-president, so the cultural impact is considerably less.
3.) It's none of my business.
4.) You put it out there and while it's none of my business, you can't tell me what to say, think, or feel about it.
    5.) Neener.
