    I think Dems are expected to take the higher ground, which is why we claim the higher ground. At least this is what I've been taught. So yes, l hold my own to a higher standard. Deal with it.

    IIRC Mayaguez incident did have an effect on the election. Ford got blamed for the rescue effort. Similar to Carter’s failed rescue effort in Iran about 5 years later.
