Just watched it. I hope the remaining episodes aren’t that clunky, and that this episode did the majority of the heavy lifting.

I thought it was sweet for the way the three groups had their own sub (or overt) text about the interpersonal stuff.

Rebecca took on the persona of Ted and found an old joy to share and brought Ted along. Ted was Rebecca trying not to show he was in pain from not being there with his son but fully connected to Rebecca.

We know Roy sees his niece as his daughter. And he gave up sexy Christmas so she could regain her self esteem. Keely was all ready to have a night of Christmas marathon shagging but went all in too.

Higgins’ family was only the vehicle for a brilliant team bonding.

I don’t recall if it’s been mentioned here, but I just finished the second season of Trying on Apple+ and really enjoyed it. It’s a British comedy about a couple trying to adopt a child. It’s a fun, easy watch. Having been through the adoption process, it brought back memories.

Trying grows on you. It's a sweet show with lots of funny.

I spend half my time rewinding scenes or lines because everyone seems to have a 12-inch-thick cockney accent that makes it hard to understand.

I watched the first season of Ted Lasso almost entirely on an airplane, along with all the extra noise that comes with it (despite thinking I had good noise canceling ear buds).

Turned on the closed captioning to assist … it helped me catch a lot of quips that would’ve flown past me.

Hulu: The Great is pretty good.
You’re The Worst, also on Hulu. I realize this show started about 5 years ago and ended a a couple of years ago. But it’s pretty funny. Aya Cash is my new TV crush.

Finale of White Lotus; 3.5 stars (out of 5). An okay ride, not particularly memorable.

The theory about this season of Ted Lasso is the holidays fall right in the middle of the season. So the soccer side is about to pick up. With that = more Coach Beard.

It's basically been confirmed that the first character you see in each season is the character with the biggest transformation. Season 1 was Rebecca. Season 2 is Nate. So buckle up.

I am into schmaltzy Christmas Love Actually parodies (that also involve Hannah Waddingham singing because she is FANTASTIC) so I loved every second. The actress who plays Phoebe is so good. The fact that Higgins wrote his speech and remembered every single player's hometown is great. He mentioned in the past that just a handful of players would show up. This year, almost the entire team shows up and they have to pull together every single surface to seat them all. That shows that this team dynamic Ted is fostering is working.

Agreed. Shane and Olivia are just miserable characters and I found myself actively rooting for shitty outcomes for them. I liked the music and the setting and staring at Alexandra Daddario but six episodes were enough.

    He's been nonexistent this season.

This is the essence of Coach Beard:

And I walked out of Love Actually so it's no wonder I wanted to gag myself with a spoon watching all of the schmaltz in this past episode.

So, who died? The opening scene showed the asshole husband watching a casket being unloaded from a plane, and the nosy couple talking about a murder there.

Man, there were no likeable characters in that series.
