One of the great moments in a charmed life.
And he had no idea the Andres Thomas Braves would be the last bad teams he'd ever be calling.

I don't get emotional when these folks cross the river but I have to say I did when Skip died. His nasal voice was a fixture in my life for a long time- too long perhaps.
Skip, Pete, Ernie Johnson and Don Sutton- all dead.

So anybody who dares point out that you were out of line deserves a personal attack. Try owning your mistake instead of lashing out at others for pointing it out.

I really was worried that I wasn't getting through. It is so satisfying to see you grow and change.

Fulton County Stadium in the 80s was social distancing before anyone invented the term. I used to find Braves baseball wretchedly boring because they were forever trailing the Padres or Cardinals 7-2 before a crowd of 5000 that the TBS cameras somehow made look even less impressive. I was too young to actually appreciate what Skip was saying, and wasn’t paying close attention anyway. Finally caught on at the very tail end of his career.

I went to several games at Fulton County Stadium in the rotten years … it wasn’t the cameras making the crowd looking even less impressive, it was the stadium.

I never told him, or anyone else, what to be offended by. Just stop. Stop telling me what I meant. ... rather than responding to what I said. Stop putting your words in my mouth over and over again, insisting that what YOU say came from me. ... and lecturing me. This isn't the first time you have done this on here, I am sure it won't be the last. But it's so lame.

Pro Tip: Always make it unequivocably clear that you don't want your air supply cut off to the point of unconsciousness and your face tendorized like a tough cut of meat.

So true on Fulton Co Stadium. But as a kid, I loved it. Felt like it was my own personal playground with just a couple thousand strangers. The bandwagoners that jumped on when the division title streak began in the mid-90s pissed me off; I didn't think you were allowed to cheer Smoltz/Glavine/Maddux unless you spent all those nights watching Rick Camp and Rick Mahler.

I did, from 2500 or miles away, on WTBS.

Had no rooting interest in the division rivals but baseball is life and especially when it's on teevee everyday. Does Pascual Perez still have a Jheri curl?
