    Jesus Christ. About 2/3 through the story there's literally a "DEY TOOK ER JERBS!" quote from her.

    Hopefully somebody will catch up to her in prison, and shove a shiv through her neck.

    Its 2021, it appears there is still debate as to whether this counts as racist behavior or not:

    person in majority call attention to someone else's skin color in a mocking fashion;

    person in majority is never subject to same treatment.
    Is this racist behavior or simply "a joke" and oversensitivity?

    IMHO, there's no nuance here, its an up and down question.

    Unsurprisingly, IMHO its by definition racist, because its one-sided. If you disagree, please explain.

    I would explain why you're right, but I don't want to be accused of lecturing.

    Also, if you don't quote a certain someone motherfucking verbatim, that person accuses you of not understanding or misrepresenting what that person wrote. As though the horrible, longwinded writing that no one asked for or wants doesn't ever play a factor.

    Nah.

    Those hate crime laws shouldn't exist. ... they try to punish someone for a crime in a more serious way because of what the person was thinking when they committed the crime. They are feel good laws for people, but we should be punishing the acts which already were illegal, not making the acts more or less serious based on what a prosecutor argues the person was thinking when they committed the crime. If someone mows down several people with their car, but then doesn't make racist comments, is what they did less serious?

    In this case, it's not like the concurrent sentence was really a gift. If she had gone to a state prison she'd be eligible for parole after serving a fraction of the sentence. But because of the hate crime law, she's going to go to Federal prison where there is no parole. She'll serve the full 25.
