Because us Orioles fans are more interested in watching what's happening in Bowie and Aberdeen than the disaster that is Camden Yards. No. 1 farm system in baseball, though it's still somewhat bereft of pitching. Baltimore's upcoming schedule is brutal, too. Shohei tonight before a matinee on Thursday against the Angels. Then three vs. Tampa, three at Toronto, three at Yankee Stadium. The law of averages being what they are, they should win ONE of those games, but during the losing streak, they've lost by more than one run 18 times. They've allowed double-digit runs seven times. They've lost by seven runs or more seven times. I can see a legit path to 30 straight losses. I was a kid for the 0-21 start in '87, and I was probably way more invested then. This is just something that's happening and thankfully I have other teams to invest in.

I mean, they fucking suck out loud and will suck out loud again in 2022. Most of the help won't come until 2023 at the earliest. No way you rush the top prospects up to join this shitshow until they're absolutely ready.

Someone asked me why the Orioles are so bad. I said because they're good at it.

But I didn't have an actual answer.

Should also add that the other four teams in Baltimore's division are all at least six games above .500 and three of them are probably making the playoffs. It's a hell of a division to be trying a rebuild in.

As far as I can reckon in the 20th and 21st century the record for games back was set at 66 1/2 by the 1906 NL Boston Beaneaters (Braves). The AL Record is the 1939 St. Louis Browns (Orioles) 64 1/2. Neither record appears in jeopardy despite the Orioles attempt to do so having lost 16 in a row earlier and currently at 19 games lost in a row. They are only 39 games back. Arizona is currently 40 games back. They at least won a World Series this century. The Orioles are still rebuilding from the 1983 World Series.

I watched last night. Embarrassingly funny. One play, an Angel got a routine single to center. CF missed the ball rolling toward him. He got it and threw to the shortstop, who missed it, requiring the 2B to chase it down.

On the Angels' side, ex-Oriole Dylan Bundy gave up a homer in the first, the Angels scored 5 in the second. Bundy got pulled after loading the bases with no outs in the bottom of the second before he could blow a 5-1 lead.

But the streak could end Thursday with the Angels sending Quintana to the mound. He is awful.

So is the Orioles’ choice, winless Trumpist Keegan Akin.

No team in baseball can match the Orioles for awful pitching depth.

You’ll watch. You may say you won’t watch … but we know the truth.

Nineteen consecutive losses in 1975. 119 losses in 2003. 114 losses in 2019. I feel your pain. Hard to believe the Orioles swept the Tigers as recently as the 2014 playoffs. Let's hope they both return soon.

I want to know how this is calculated.

Sorry to everyone who bet against the juggernaut Orioles tonight. (Sheepishly raises hand.)

That's the truly amazing part to me. They went from a 93-loss team, to a 96-win team that made the ALCS and two other playoff appearances, and back again in the span of 10 years. That's hard to do.
It's really hard to believe that the 2014 ALCS, only seven years ago, was the Orioles vs. the Royals.
