Knowing ESPN they’ll replace her with a Tik Toker

What's the alternative? FS1 is trying to out ESPN its modern version, with screaming debate shows. Given the price of the highlights package for the NFL, that alone is a barrier for entry to doing a sports network, outside of the biggest of the big boys.

Saw someone online say, "One mistake in a recorded private moment cost Rachel Nichols her career at ESPN. That's pretty scary."

That said, she denigrated Maria Taylor into a hot mic and called her a diversity hire. That's toothpaste that can't be put back into the tube, even if it was pushed out by accident. Why would any Black talent or source (of which I am told there are several in the NBA) ever want to work with her?

I think it cuts both ways.

I understand it, but someone who just found out that she lost what was an announced job is having a private conversation in which she is expressing her frustration. If that is the standard then a lot of people would be fired.

And while the content certainly isn’t complementary, it is far from the worst thing that someone could say.

I agree. She is radioactive and it will be hard for her to land another tv gig IMO. Hope I'm wrong.

Removing her from NBA content was always going to be a question of timing. As soon as the story broke she was dead in the water.

If the network wants to keep her they'll just shift her onto hockey.

I remember when the WWL gave Kellerman his own program.

I guess you have to hand it to a guy who lasts somewhere 20 years and his forte is boxing.

I don't think you'll see her on ESPN again.
