So he (and you) think he was cheated.

Why would you even play in a league where you think your "friends" would cheat you? Why would those people even be your "friend"?

You do the draft order ahead of the draft? Why? Also, I assume you're doing a snake draft right?

Don't your questions support the idea that he should leave that league? If he doesn't trust the people running it to be fair, quitting is the right call.

It's possible he wasn't cheated. Maybe he has just been very unlucky, but he told them he was quitting if they chose the draft order without him and they did it anyway. That was pretty shitty on their part.

If you have to tell people "don't choose the draft order without me there [because I think you're cheating me]," you shouldn't have been signed up for the league in the first place.

Yes. Roll a pair of dice six times and see how long it takes to get a set all between 9 and 11. I think you'd be there a very long time.

That’s not the same as drawing 12 random numbers from a hat. dq would explain.

I remember a college math class where I was doing mediocre at best until we got to the chapter on dice probability. Suddenly I was a savant.

It's been a little while since I took discrete, but odds in a 12-team draft picking in the bottom five for six straight years is about 0.5%.

And don't fall for the fallacy of "I keep picking late in the draft. I'm due for a better pick!"

Every year is an independent draft, with a 41-percent chance you're picking in the bottom five. "I'm due!" is not actually a thing.

Badly need @doctorquant to come correct my math.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't go into the deep end of the math pool ... but I love me some dice.

Pretty sure these guys aren't your friends. So, what do you lose if you drop out of the league? The fact that you asked to be included and you were not included sucks. And use that for your reason to go. It doesn't matter where you draft, I had a great team last year until my three best players all suffered seasonh-ending knee injuries. Who cares? But you asked to be included when they did the draft and they ignored you. I don't think these guys are your friends.

I was in a league where the commish did a video of his daughters picking from a hat. It’s not rocket science.

I bailed on two leagues this year at the same time.

I was an add-in to a bunch of guys and the shady stuff just kept mounting up.

I finished in the money about 50% of the time and the league is an auction. Owner also wanted to do a best ball league, which are fun with an in person draft. I got first pick but I had to be at a volleyball match so I told them to start without me. I preselected my team so I got Cook with the first pick.

Matches take a long time so the draft is essentially over and I got Christian Mccaffery. WTF. I got put on best available auto.

For the auction, I told the league that I was on vacation and I couldn’t draft that week. Guess what? Draft on the week I’m on vacation. I told them I’m out of everything. I’m not wasting a night at the beach over this.

And there are the times when teams who have players like Julio Jones at $90 (it’s a keeper league) who won’t trade or respond to my requests.

So people can be dicks. You are right for bailing in the league.
