Let me clarify by saying what I don’t believe is Connecticut was the closest with an available ICU bed. California isn’t full. I haven’t checked Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, New York and others, but I have to believe they all have ICU capacity. What I do believe is that Idaho hospital got told no and Connecticut finally said yes, but the entire country isn’t at capacity for icu beds. Maybe hospitals have agreements that promise overflow to other hospitals or admin were hesitant for committing resources. But I think her statement that they were the only place with an open bed out of all the many states closer is suspect.
