First starting QB of the expansion Carolina Panthers in 1995.

To which I add the guy who replaced him during that season: Kerry Collins.

Since we're on the topic of expansion Panthers: Derrick Moore

I covered that team. I can do them all. Well, most anyway.

Remember Eric Guliford? Chad Cota? "Dr. Psycho" Paul Butcher?

Names sound semi-familiar, but I don't really remember them.

But, while we're on the subject: John Kasay.

Interesting time to be at Clemson. You could get Panthers tickets on The Hill for $8. I was there for the franchise's first win which, of course, came against the Jets. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

The bar scene was tough, though. It was bad enough trying to talk up a young lady at The Esso Club or Tiger Town Tavern in the presence of D-1 athletes but when Collins and the pros walked in the door, it was a green light to get shithoused because the chances went from slim to none.

Sam Mills intercepted Bubby Brister’s shovel pass and weaved his way to the end zone for a TD just before halftime and turned around not only the game, but the Panthers’ entire season.
