Cam Newton cut in part because he remains unvaccinated; maybe this pushes the SEC to finally get their shots?

If he was cut because he refused to protect himself and his teammates, I applaud the Patriots. I also wonder if the union is going to file a grievance and if that's going to be a story.
And for the life of me, I don't know why the union wouldn't agree to a vaccination requirement, which really does work for the benefit of the entire membership. If I'm a rookie making the minimum and playing for the 49ers or another team in a very expensive city, I'm gonna be hacked off if I lose not only a game in the won-lost column but a week's pay because teammates refused to do something as easy as a vaccination.

There's absolutely no way the union could show Newton's vaccination status was why he was released. An arbitrator would look at his 2020 stats and go "case closed."

The Pats resigned him after he put up those 2020 stats.

They signed him to a contract that gave him a $2m signing bonus and a $1.5m salary that’s offset if anywhere signs him — and the veteran minimum is just short of $1.1m. They’re probably out only an extra $400k since I’m sure someone takes a flyer on him.

Except that, now, we're apparently more stupid.

At least in 1918, there was no vaccine. Now, there is one, and we're still letting this happen.

So incredible. People don't realize how fortunate we are. And to not take advantage of it? It's just inexplicable and unexplain-able.

Inexplicable? This goes right to Fat Orange Hitler and his henchmen. Craven incompetence on a galactic scale.

They’d rather their family members die quietly than admit being wrong. The disease of conceit.
