The right is so much better at keeping its troops riled up. After Obergefell v. Hodges, the progressive movement patted itself on the back and buried itself in poptimism and tv shows. Myself included. The right stays angry for generations.

At this point I’d rather just have a Trumpist to write off in West Virginia than watch Joe Manchin edge himself on power.

This is just negotiation and in an earlier and better age all the point-counterpoint would be private. But Manchin clearly loves being the center of attention. It's the fatal weakness of an otherwise pretty accomplished pol. He's killing himself for '24. One thing the "moderate" Democrats never get and what costs them election after election is that 90 percent of the votes they get come from unmoderate Democrats.

Im starting to think he’s looking ahead to 2025 when he thinks he’s getting his own show on CNN or MSNBC.

How does anyone know how many weeks pregnant a woman is at the time of abortion unless a medical provider violates HIPAA regulations?

I wondered this, but doctors' existing reporting requirements on abortion, while, numerous, do not include the woman's name.
Does the Texas law require naming the woman? Wouldn't shock me.

The most vehement anti-maskers are typically the biggest anti-abortion folk.

They can't. I reckon HIPAA is toast.
