The US is just not prepared for a protracted debate on abortion. It never really has been - but at this moment? No. I understand the idea behind the Texas law, but it is confusing, and its potential to do real damage to already-worn American fabric is significant.

 

I agree with you on this. Not only with the fact that the law as it is legally written may open up an entirely insane can of worms (such as suing gun owners because my religion says guns are wrong), but it’s going to piss off a lot of people who now literally can point to this law and say “Republicans are in favor of rapists who want children being allowed to rape your wife and daughters and get away with it.” Dems should repeat this over and over for the next three years.
