Lubbock has an airport with commercial service, but nobody in the Big 12 enters the Texas Tech Open. Good chance the first time many of them will see each other is at the Big 12 meet.

SMU has already been making moves in recruiting to be strong in the AAC. They have a real chance to run the show for years to come, or at least split the pot with Memphis and USF. And if there is a sixth auto bid in an expanded playoff, they may actually be in a slightly better position than two months ago.

The thing is that both SMU and Memphis are going to try to get out of the AAC as soon as one of the existing B12 make a move.

Looks like UAB to what is left of the AAC, which while diminished is still a helluva lot better than C-USA.

What I could see is the MWC trying to bring SMU back into the fold. That gets them back into a market that worked well before (TCU) and helps them build a case as the Best of the Rest league.

So does the B12 + the four added still hang in as the least of the P5, or is it P4 + B12 at 5 and AAC at 6?

I'm sure the top four will be kicking down.

I don’t see how it would be worse than the PAC-12.

The revamped Big 12 would have a more recent national championship than the PAC 12.

Storm closes Tulane campus for a month.

Biggest home game in years moved to Norman.

    AAC being stripped for parts.

    As bad as it gets.
