Has anyone told Taliban leaders yet that China is an atheist nation and it persecutes Muslims?

 

Actually it makes sense that China would become an economic ally for Afghanistan. It opens up a new market for China, I don't think ultimately it costs them much. Although the things you say are certainly true, this makes perfect sense.

 

I know it makes sense but the Taliban's idea of education is the Koran and how to build an IED. They don't allow music or social sciences or the arts. It's entirely possible their leaders have no idea of China's persecution of the Uighur, Turkic or Rohingya Muslims. And if they do, then they're admitting it's okay for China to practice genocide on people of their own faith as long as it benefits them financially or militarily. But, there's that whole Sunni vs. Shiite thing, so Muslims have a history of fratricide.

Decades? The history of Christianity for over 1500 years has been violent oppression, murder, torture, child abuse, thievery, genocide, slavery and hypocrisies. And whileChristians have been mercilessly brutal towards anyone that doesn’t obey the church, they have been nearly as horrific towards their own followers. And it is not just the Catholic Church, though the do represent all of Christendom until the 1600’s, the Protestant churches have been as disgusting,upholding slavery, , intolerance, genocide and endless war and atrocities since the reformation.

The Uighurs found somewhat of a safe haven in Afghanistan during Taliban I. The Taliban leadership this time around is much more pragmatic. They’re already angling for foreign investment and even wanted the U.S. to keep diplomats there. They figure the Uighur question is settled so it’s OK to take Chinese $$$.

One thing I’ve heard mentioned is that the Taliban don’t have international aspirations. They want their paradise. They aren’t like al-Qaida/ISIS and exporting their theology everywhere.
