There's talk on the street it sounds so familiar
    Great expectations everybody's watching you
People you meet they all seem to know you
Even your old friends treat you like you're something new

    Donny dumb lately
    The coup kid in town
Why do they still love you
    When you're such a clown

I’m waiting for some asshole like Trump to say “He talks all the time about his dead son. He never talks about the crack addict.”

He may have money stashed but that doesn't mean he's going to subsidize a loser.

Is Clay Travis the best Fox can do as a renegade sports media personality? Because he is flavorless as it gets.

I'd rather have Eric Cantor than the nutjobs running around the Hill now.

I read that Eric Cantor's loss is the reason that some form of amnesty is now a non-starter in the Republican party. Cantor was amenable to some form of amnesty, as were many Republicans. But his primary opponent hit Cantor over the head with that issue and scared off any other congressional Republicans from supporting amnesty.

Jimmy Beslin shadowed Tip O'Neal during the Nixon impeachment and wrote an excellent book about it. In one scene O'Neal was sitting in the House cafeteria. One congressman walked in looking jubilant and another dejected. O'Neal said the former had just found out he would not face a primary while the second had found out his opponent had gotten on the ballot. O'Neal said that sitting Congressmen hated primaries, even though they in well over 90% of them. It involves a lot of campaigning and fund raising and there is always the danger you can lose, or be damaged for the election. I think today's congressmen respond to the same motivations.

That's probably also why the GQP lost that seat to Abigail Spanberger. The guy she beat in 2018 was absolutely looney tunes.
