Also, a reminder that US Soccer cannot control who other federations sell rights to for qualifiers they host. That said, it looks like a package deal for many of them went to CBS.

Suffice it to say, whoever first called soccer "the beautiful game" did not foresee the current iteration of the US Men's National Team.

 

Sure is weird seeing Brooks spend almost as much time wandering forward as Sargent. I thought it was the young, mobile defenders who were supposed to be zipping about while the steady veteran presence holds down the fort.

 

There have been some hints that the field is slow, but the passing out of the US tonight has been horrific.

 

This is a disaster.

 

I'm logging onto Football Manager and sacking Berhalter from the USMNT - hoping it will happen IRL.
