I love me some Katie Porter. Some people (but few politicians) call a spade a spade. Katie calls a spade a damn shovel. Note: This bears on Alma's $3.5t.

Roads and bridges and rails and sidewalks are old and rotting and deteriorating and crumbling.

Where are the visuals to show everyday Americans working to fix these things? Real jobs. Real paychecks. Real money. Real impact.

Looming failure of the $3.5T/$1.5T is as much on Dems as it is on QOP.

Some veteran Congressional reporter, I forget which alas, posted on Twitter several weeks ago that all Congressional negotiations go "no no no no no no no no no YES!" Something to remember. I think Manchin is dumb for negotiating in semi-public, allowing the other side of the dealing all the public comment space, but since we don't know what Pelosi/Schumer have offered in return we're getting a very skewed version of what's really happening.

Photos and videos and voice-overs carry a lot of weight. Target the poor areas of West Virginia and Arizona and other Dem-Senate states teetering on losing seats, and states like Alabama and Mississippi and Kentucky.

You have to show the American public what these jobs, and this kind of money, looks like in real time. Good jobs. Good money. More prosperity.

For being so hooked into Hollywood, Dems are having a tough time telling, let alone selling, an American story.

That point is very well taken. Very true. The other side of that coin is that the R's are very good at hanging a derogatory label on something, then staying on message and pounding that label. Partial Birth Abortion. The Death Tax. Obamacare. One of the things I like about the Lincoln Project is that it puts up the sort of smart, biting attack ads that are usually aimed at Dems and kicks hell out of the R's with them.

Katie Porter and her white board scares the hell out of big time corporate execs. If she doesn't, it's because they're stupid.

A family of 5 in Alabama at the dinner table full of food for the first time in years because daddy got a good-paying job fixing broken roads.

Single mother standing by her new car because she got a job fixing bridges that also pays enough for child care for her 2 kids.

    (Other examples here)

Relentlessly sell the little things visually. At least try.

Saying "we need to pass the infrastructure bill!" nonstop on TV without giving everyday Americans an idea of what that really means is poor leadership.

And “poor leadership” sums up the America of the last 20 years.
