That happened in Cheshire, CT recently. A bunch of anti-maskers harassed the governor over school mask mandates.

A woman going full Karen during a meeting, with a kid sitting behind her with fingers in her ears. The meeting was cut 30 mins short and the group accosted them outside. Lucky the State Police didn’t put one of their heads through plate glass for getting too close.

That has to be clear from day one and it is going to be difficult for students who haven't been in the classroom all that time.

Pennsylvania really made a mess of it, starting a state-wide mask mandate after the school year started. Students began with masks being optional, then suddenly they were required for everyone. Many of the students and parents are resisting. This is leading to conflicts in the schools, including the students who don't want to wear masks bullying the ones who do.

Anybody with a clue about dealing with children should know you have to set the rules from day one. Starting off soft and getting tougher doesn't work.
