He took the money after cashing out of PayPal and became a hedge fund guy. That's pretty much anathema to Silicon Valley tech people. Then he went more and more right wing. He was supporting Trump without stroking a check until right after the Access Hollywood tape came out. He backed off of him some in the last year or two. Now he's trying to play the Trump game without Trump.

The problem comes when he finds the right person to play the role.
