That Chiefs first half was an abortion on toast. As was Mahomes late INT.

    My favorite Lions story.
One time they lost to the Eagles after giving up the winning TD on a 3rd and 43. I said to Herman Moore: “Lions fans feel like things happen here that don’t happen anywhere else. Herman said: “Oh I KNOW things happen here that don’t happen anywhere else.”

    1) Lions were stupid to be content with a FG when they knew the Ravens’ kicker was quite capable of doing what he did.
    2) The bitterness on CBS and elsewhere is fascinating. You’d think the victim of the alleged injustice was the Cowboys or Packers or Steelers.
    3) The cries that the NFL is conspiring to benefit Baltimore are hilarious. Early 1990s expansion process was a deliberate attempt to keep a team out of what the league considered was Washington territory. Commissioner at the time was huge WFT fan. So Jacksonvile (then 48th market) got team over Baltimore (28). Absurd.

Campbell obviously has them playing better, and I'm sure most Lions coaches have lost the battle of keeping the team mentally "in" after close losses and they just close up shop. Emphasize playing some teams close, pick up a win here and there and you never know. It isn't like those Lions unis have some hex on them or anything.

And this is why the Dolphins are the Lions.

Some odd coincidences around Tucker's field goal:
    • It was the second of his career from 60-plus yards. The first, in 2013, was also a game-winner to beat the Lions at Ford Field. The Ravens won that day, 18-16, and today they won 19-17.
    • Prater tried that ill-fated 68-yarder today against Jacksonville that would have maintained his record even after Tucker's make.
    • Prater also had a 62-yarder last week against the Vikings. He kicked his 64-yarder on Dec. 8, 2013, and Tucker's previous 61-yard field goal against the Lions was the following week.
    • Tucker and Prater became the fourth and fifth kickers to make multiple 60-plus yard field goals in their career. The others are Greg Zuerlein and Sebastian Janikowski (two each) and former Cowboys kicker Brett Maher (three).

I still can't believe Gruden thought going for it on 4th and 1 at their own 35 was a quality decision. 90 percent of football games are won by the teams that play a less crappy game than their opponents. Don't be dumb. Make the other team beat you is a philosophy that will get you to a .500 record. If you have talent, that will probably push you to the playoffs.

Romo and Nance were talking about how bad the wind was all day, and the missed XP gives credence to the idea that maybe you just didn't want to take two or three knees and then kick. That being said, I think they could have taken -a- knee, either to force the Chiefs to use a timeout, or to get the clock down to 20 seconds for their final three plays.
