Suicide Game ep 1 was epic.

I've never seen L&O either -- or ER, speaking of huge NBC shows. Loved the original CSI though, and come to think of it that was probably the last network TV show that my wife and I watched religiously together.

My only streaming platform at present is Prime. I've been watching a lot of cooking videos on YouTube, so I took a stab at the most recent season of Hell's Kitchen.

One I observation is that I can bang out a 43 minute episode in less than 25. It starts with a three minutes recap of the last episode. After every commercial break, a further 30 second recap. Then there is a 10 minute stretch in the middle where one team goes to a spa or a ranch and I dgaf.

Anyway, the show is really a celebration of douche culture. I know it's an act from Ramsay, but the swearing and ranting and throwing shit gets old in a hurry. The "restaurant guests" are there in part to witness this.

The contestants are largely knobs, and reality TV life ramps it up. "Carbonara baby!!! That's what I'm talking about".

Despite this, I'm sure I'll watch a second season.

Ha, Kitchen Nightmares has actually been off the air for about seven years. I do highly recommend the first season of his original UK show though, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. The volume is lowered quite a bit for that, and it's a way better show as a result.

Oops edited because I meant HK.

The UK Nightmares was great. Most penthouse restaurants could be rescued. The US version was wildly formulaic, and I think most of the restaurants were way too far down the road to save.

They were very different shows, he was much less adversarial in the original.

Watching Sopranos again, HBO is pushing it for the new movie. It’s still a good show but was always a hard watch because there was no character who deserved empathy.

Shoot, make the younger cop Logan's kid or Briscoe's grandson. I always thought Richard Brooks and Moriarity's chemistry was good in that they obviously didn't really have any as characters. Moriarity full of liberal catholic guilt, Robinette a fully-aware careerist (I realize he went private practice, but he wanted the DA experience) who didn't want to be seen as a sell-out. I do hope they toss in Easter eggs by the basketfull on the reboot. A Profaci reference, a Mike Bodak callback, maybe even have Skoda show up.

To me, the ultimate opener - it got me hooked on the show. The Troubles was a fantastic episode.

    Midnight Mass.

Slow descent into what's bound to be terror and utter madness. Starts getting to it at the end of episode three.

    Hamish Linklater for an Emmy.

QB2 shows up and is Matt Czurchy pouty.

Yes. Gorgeous to look at. Not in love with any of the characters. I felt like between the first and the second episodes they left out an episode.

Going to check it out, if only to see the resurrection of Lane Pryce.
