    Not to necro a thread, but the beginning of this song has been abundantly sampled and the rest of it should've been, lyrics aside. In short, 1972 didn't totally suck.

    This is probably an easy one, but only one member of the Byrds actually played on the "Mr. Tambourine Man" recording; the others were session musicians (The Wrecking Crew). Who was that?

    Yeah, for some reason the Columbia suits liked him, but not Hillman and Michael Clarke. Crosby and Gene Clark were not very good at guitar. I think it was the sound of McGuinn's 12-string Rickenbacker.
