Running MCU thread

Looks like it to me.

 

First trailer for Hawkeye, including a Nov. 24 release date for the premiere episode. This looks like fun. It seems like they are drawing heavily on the Hawkeye comic that had Clint Barton teaming up with Kate Bishop. I never read it, but it seems promising.

I'll be happier if the rumors are true and Vincent D'Onofrio shows up as Kingpin, the role he played so well in the Netflix Daredevil series.

 

Looks great. They are quickly rebuilding the starting lineup.

 

Glad to see Renner getting some real run as Hawkeye. He’s not my favorite character, but Renner was rightfully pissed off that he spent most of The Avengers as “evil” Hawkeye and didn’t really get to explore the character. It almost feels like Marvel has been trying to make up for that ever since, and they’ve done a decent job giving him some depth. This looks like a chance for him to have some fun with the character.

 

What a great episode of What If…

 

They certainly found a good way to raise the stakes. Did I miss some clear reference showing that was Party Thor's universe where things started?

 

I think they moved to Party Thor as they moved.

I mean that I think it was Party Thor's universe where Ultron won. Othewise, the Watcher's reaction to seeing a version of Ultron show up at the end of Episode 7 makes no sense.

One theory I like is that every universe we've seen this season is doomed. That is how the Watcher will justify pulling heroes from them to fight Ultron. It is basically the MCU version of the Marvel Comic Exiles, which I think was mentioned earlier in this thread.

 

I found time to watch the season finale of What If? this morning. There were a couple of stumbles this first season, but damn if they didn't stick the landing. I'm amazed how much they fit into a 35-minute episode, with a good mix of action, humor, and character moments. I don't want to spoil anything, but I will point out that there is a mid-credits scene with real implications for one of the characters.

A second season has already been confirmed, with the idea that it would focus on all new characters, but there are already rumors of at least one character from the first season eventually making the transition into live action.

 

This really was a great series.

Everything really came together wonderfully.

 

I agree. It would have been better if they didn't have to drop an episode. I'm sure that is why that one character we hadn't seen before was suddenly part of the action in the finale. I haven't had time to watch that episode again yet, but I plan on it.

I know quite a few MCU fans either bailed early on the series or decided to skip it entirely. They are missing out.

 

BTW. Always liked the fact that Tony always carried Cap’s flip phone. Otherwise, why would he have it at the beginning of IW
