I read that a little while ago. There's no way she's not getting kickbacks for incarcerating these kids.

 

I didn't make it down to 19 in that thread. The judge is DEFINITELY taking kickbacks.

 

You're ignoring most of the history of the United States, and hiring practices that continue today, where it's meritocracy for white men, and other people get shut out of jobs. Their merits are often not even actually considered. That's why I think Justice does become more just the more people of color and the more women that are in those departments.

One other thing: We share DNA with nanners, taters, tree shrews, chimpanzees, tarsiers, gorillas... and I used to know the genetic percentages and dental arcades of all of them! (Okay, not the nanners and taters. Shut up. I'm on a roll.) There is a finite amount of matter here. It cycles in and out of all manner of things. Some of it forms people and before that, it formed, oh, I don't know... cat fetuses or dinosaur shit or ring-tailed lemurs. We're not that special. Since we're all sentient and verbal at this moment in time, we might as well enjoy it and treat each other as we would want to be treated.
