Genesis Postpone Tour Dates Due to Covid-Infected Band Members

Isn't this some crap? Testing my mettle of not doing too much socially since they're scheduled to play a pair of shows within driving distance on consecutive nights ... but I strongly suspect they won't tour again.

Plus ... I am kinda curious if the kid learned any percussion tricks from the father and if he can work the '70s tracks, many of which require more than a mere timekeeper. For all the jokes about him - many of which are made on this board - he was a spectacular percussionist long before he ever produced any solo work.

I work on a 15-person assembly line. I’m the only one vaccinated and we can’t get anyone hired despite paying $27 an hour.

If we fire everyone on my line and in my plant a 1,500 person factory that does a billion dollars worth of sales a year goes belly up and I lose my job, too.

But keep your fingers crossed. Maybe you’ll get your wish and I can join them on unemployment.

I hate that dumb people won’t get vaccinated. But start firing people around this country and the whole ship is going down.

Deal with reality, not what you feel from your office desk.

While most of you were sitting at home on Zoom, we were still building. We never stopped building equipment for the hospitals. I got Covid. My family got Covid. While you guys sat at home. But fuck us, right?

How long are we supposed to extend the pandemic - and at what cost - by doing nothing?

Are you saying none of the 14 people on your line would get vaccinated if their livelihoods depended upon it?

It’s over. The stupid people won. We now live in a Covid world. I’ve accepted that for months. Obliterating the American workplace isn’t going to change that.

You’ll be fine in the city. I promise.

That will be interesting to see, if it comes to that. I know the guy next to me on the line believes it is the Mark of the Beast, so I’m guessing not.

That’s the part that most people outside the Bible Belt don’t realize. A generation convinced their whole childhood that the world is ending. Add in the fact they all get their information from Youtube videos and all this just dovetails into this.

Should I respect the fact that you never stopped working without mentioning the fact that because of the anti-mask, anti-vax dopes I can't do my work?

I understand this is all upsetting for everyone, but your workplace is no better or worse or more important than anyone else's.

Am I supposed to sacrifice my employment on the altar of your colleagues' stupidity?

Your job supports 1,500 jobs and the entire economy of an entire county? Like, we kinda keep an entire part of a state from poverty. Yeah. That’s more important than a magazine writer, dude.

People in my town make $17,000 a year on average. My wife practices law knowing she’ll never get paid by them and still does it. This job pays $50,000. It’s a big deal here.

But if I lose my job it's OK?

That’s not how you framed your last response. You said your workplace is equal to all others.

I don’t go telling my brother-in-law who is a doctor that my job is as important as his.

    That’d be self-centered and ridiculous.

My hope would be that all would be vaccinated and everyone got to keep their job. I just don’t think this mandate will break this spell of stupidity rampant in this country. So I’m just trying to keep a job at this point.

I said your workplace is no better or worse or more important than anyone else's. See?

Don't misquote me to make a bad point.

Your workplace is important to your local economy. Of course.

But the longer the pandemic goes on, the more it hurts us all.

So how do we get the guy next to you vaccinated?
