Forty four million (-ish) confirmed cases. Say they represent 1 out of 3 total infections. Then you have a lot (15%+) who aren't yet eligible to be vaccinated. And then you have the unvaccinated. It's not a target-poor environment.

So that's how you say "Fatfuck" in Latin.

Writing this from year two of lockdown.

The people I talk to ask the same thing they have been asking for what seems like a lifetime: When do we get back to normal?

The person I report to has told us to use our judgment, but be mindful. He would prefer that we be honest. Normal as we know it is not there anymore. There is a new normal.

The response is usually something along the lines of: "But President Trump promised..." "My preacher promised..." "You just want this to go on..."

Believe me, I wish things were back to normal. What plans I try to make for the future are tentative and constantly shifting right now. Will the educational system as we know it be around? Will there be libraries and museums? Will curricula be determined by people with no interest in creating a society full of curious people?

I don't think any or many people who stay home are feeling superior to the people who have not stopped going out to work. At the very least, we're worried about y'all.

    Yeah it was.

Unpacks the arguments methodically and fairly.

    Smart fella. Good writer.

In the present case, as the ethicists Jackie Turvey Tait and Tobias Winright also point out, voluntary ignorance concerning scientific facts about Covid-19 vaccines (which should allay any reasonable concerns about their safety and efficacy), or concerning the church’s magisterial teaching regarding their moral liceity and the moral imperative to be vaccinated for the sake of the common good, does not excuse one’s exercise of a misinformed conscience.

Oh, I've at least had it twice (before the vax, roughly 10 mos apart). This'll be an annual shot kind of deal. It's never going away.

A family got COVID after having it a year ago and being vaccinated.

If your religious convictions do not take into account how they affect others, there is an excellent chance you have wandered off the map to arrive at the outcome you desired all along.

Now for the hard part - applying this to myself in all the non-virus related ways I’ve used this shortcut.

    Rice-

Fart's had it too. No shame in it. I hope for your speedy convalescence, along with affected family members.

It is a brick-shitting moment as a dad to wait on a child's COVID test result, I can tell you that.
