    Yeah, I suspect as much.

But I still see some clinging to the "this could have been ended a year ago had Fatfuck not . . . !" Nah, it was never going away.

We didn't need 714,000 deaths (more than the U.S. Civil War).

That was entirely preventable, and it verily had a lot to do with the fuckwit calling the plays.

Yeah a national unifying message that got people to do things like wear a damn mask and stay away from mass gatherings while we got things under control and then made it a point of pride to get vaccinated would have saved thousands of lives. And this oh well, it wasn’t going away, what can we do is utter horseshit.

The boy clearly has it worse than I do. He’s got a fever. I’ve just got a scratchy throat. His mom and step dad are negative too, so where this came from is a big mystery.

Nevertheless: I’ve just figured out Jackson has never watched the Lord of the Rings movies, so that should take up a big chunk of the next 10 days!

    I have high confidence.

My girl took my advice and is off to the Outer Banks to spend a week at her girlfriend’s house. No sense in her sitting around here suffering with us!

First, Hill was not fired. He decided to resign, himself, rather than get the vaccine. Just like my best friend did, rather than follow Disney's mandate that all employees, even those working entirely remotely, get vaccinated.

I have to say, though, that I am surprised that Hill's petition for a religious exemption was denied. That, and medical reasons, are generally the only two acceptable outs when it has come to COVID-19 vaccine requirements, and, given that that's the standard, I'd be interested to hear/know how the station came to the conclusion that Hill's petition should not be allowed. Do they know Hill well enough to know whether he actually is, or is not, a deeply religious man? Does he work on Sundays, or no because he wants that to be a day of church and rest? Does he talk about or share his faith openly? Does or does not anyone at work know him to be a serious follower of his faith, and not just a casual one? Such information might have given some good context to the company's decision regarding Hill's petition for a vaccine exemption.

And, all THAT said, it's interesting that Hill latched on to the Catholic church's saying that the vaccine should never be mandatory -- when the Pope is requiring it of everyone at the Vatican. Why not focus on the fact that the Pope has encouraged Catholics to get the shot, and on the fact that he's requiring it of those who work for/at the Church? Why not follow the advice/example of the leader of your church, if you are a devout Catholic?

I completely agree. I really want to know what these people know that the researchers, scientists and vaccine developers don't. They keep talking about "long-term" knowledge and effects, and the lack of long-term studies, etc. But, hello, this was an emergency. Long-term couldn't be awaited.

And, we're as safe as it's been possible to determine at this point, and all the scientists and most doctors seem quite confident and encouraging about it. I'd be very surprised if any of the typical anti-vax crowd is reading, learning and keeping on top of all things vaccine the way any of those professionals have been doing it lately.

So, what do they know that the rest of us don't?

Steve Cortes is a fucking piece of shit. A nobody working for a fascist need rag. I’m in a hospital but was diverted to a farther hospital because of overcrowding. Because morons like him breath

Wasn’t that storm system that delayed the Chiefs game even worse in Oklahoma and North Texas? I would think that would be highly relevant to a Dallas-based airline.

Finally got done putting it off and just got my first shot today. ..........

    Relax.

The flu shot. I've been COVID vaxed for five months. Ineligible as of now for the booster, but encouraged/told my parents (mid-70s) to do so when I called them yesterday for my dad's birthday and they said they will.
