I'm sure you've tried everything, but you want it way ahead in your stance.

Swung a club for the first time in 2 years at a scramble for a charity with 3 former hoops teammates. In our foursome, one guy can drive it 320 and another is a 6 who never misses a fairway. My goal was to have one shot a side but from holes 3-7, they played my ball every time from tee to green. Fell into the abyss after that, but I missed getting out there.

Good for you! You just never know in scramble. I'm blown away when teams put up something in the minus-20s because I've found it's easy for all four guys to mis-hit putts from that nasty 10-12 foot range. You've got to be good AND lucky to win.

Played in a scramble on Monday. All of us are 68 or 69, and the course is too long for us, so we had to hit fairway metals on just about every hole. Our best guy shoots in the 80s. The rest of us are lucky to break 100. We did have the only woman in the tournament and she was a great benefit for us. From the red tees, she could hit it 150 or so, and if she hit it straight, we were out 250. We used maybe 5-6 of her drives.
We one-putted our first four holes going par, birdie, par, par. I made the first three from 20-25 feet. Amazing for me. Our most remarkable accomplishment was not scoring higher than bogey on any hole -- no doubles, triples or snowmen. I don't think we had any three-putt greens. We shot a 6-over 77 and with our unknown handicap (they might have been adjusted) we tied for third and got a bottle of Josh cabernet.

A bottle each, or one to pass around amongst you?

That’s too bad because they little known secret is that you usually get a better lie in bunker than rough and have better chance in bunker. You actually don’t have to be as precise. However big key is have to just forget ball and focus on where in sand is your target.

Amazing the leg lasted all these years; I seem to remember reading Martin saying that his life really would be better when it was gone, but it's also kinda hard to let go of a limb.

Jack, Arnie, Finchem and others looked like a-holes when backing lawsuits preventing Martin from riding. Like there would be an avalanche of people with disabilities who would crash pro golf.

Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy in the last group at the CJ Cup? Shades of 2014 at Valhalla!

Jack’s an asshole as trumpnik. It’s clear that his stance on Martin was foreshadowing for his right wing politics.
He’s also a great example of why athletes should be respected for their profession, but outside their profession their opinions are nothing to repeat. They don’t have to stay in their lane, they are entitled to voice an opinion. It’s just they shouldn’t be given a platform by the media for their opinions outside of their profession.
