Everyone isn't a fan of a traditional power. It's easy to go buy a front runner shirt at Walmart, but some people are hardheaded and go their own way.

Any G5 league, including the American, should be happy to add Liberty. “We hate them and what they stand for.” Great, bring them to town and fill the stands with people ready to boo the shit out of them. At least that provokes an emotion and gives people a reason to watch.

It’s like the nonsense that went on forever with the PAC-12 and BYU. They supposedly weren’t the right fit to associate with that league, but five of them are playing the Cougars this fall. “Sorry Mandy, I can’t be seen going steady with you. But meet me behind the dumpsters after class for a handjob.”

Very good video here methodically analyzing the conference adds, what they do/don't, advantages and drawbacks. Note: I did *not* tell you that there would be no math. The break to the AAC portion is at 5:58.

Actually, if anything I lowballed how good this was. If you want to see why the AAC chose who they did, this is a very solid breakdown of the facts across the board.

Of the six schools taken by the AAC, you know who has the highest football budget? It's Rice.

I think all the "conference expansion" is a lot like Leno moving to the 10 p.m. time slot when Conan got the Tonight Show
BYU would be in the driver's seat for the Pac-12 South right now.

Which would be why they won't get invited. Among other things.

They’ll play BYU in football, but they won’t kowtow to the LDS hierarchy’s requirements for full membership, and that won’t hold the Pac-12 back.

Except now BYU is going to an objectively better conference in football and basketball.

Does Rice still subsidize tuition for all students?

Also, Rice once owned the land under Yankee Stadium.

Also, my great aunt went there when it was Rice Institute.
