All federal funding for any state that doesn't comply should be immediately stopped. Instead of checks, mail folks a letter that says "Because of Governor So-and-So...."

The extension of that is that whoever has control of the Federal government should be able to coerce states into doing whatever they want with a system of bribes and withholding of bribes.

Let's say Donald Trump was still president and he took that tack. ... maybe something like, "You need to change the way you conduct elections to so and so to comply with my Federal mandate, or else I am cutting off Federal funding and I'll mail a letter to everyone saying it's because of governor so and so." Would you be OK with that?

I get that it's different in your mind (and mine too). But the means always matter. ... not just the ends. Because once you establish those means you are effectively opening the barn door.

No employer contribution. You can sign up with the company plan, but you have to pay the full boat.

It's pretty much what they do with block grants anyway. You want federal transportation money? Lower your speed limit to 55. You want education money? Even though education is not supposed to be federal, adopt No Child Left Behind.

Oh you mean like when Ohioans voted down a seat belt law in the '80s, and then Ronald Reagan turned around and said well I'm going to pull your transportation funding unless you enact a seat belt law? Don't pretend it doesn't happen. And frankly pulling funds from a state government that's not going to uphold vaxxing regulations is fine by me. Even though it might have impact the state in which I live right now.
