    That’s awesome.

Also, the coloured squares at the base of your toothpaste tube mean something too. Something to do with how safe the contents are for kids or somesuch.

You can get a HBP even if the ball hits the dirt before it strikes the batter. As we saw in the WS tonight.

A previous "I did not know this" I had was if a player falls over the outfield fence while making a catch - it's still an out. The wall is an obstruction - not a boundary.

My dad used to eat stale but not moldy bread by toasting it. He's 95.

I did know that rule, but it wasn't until I saw J.B. Schuck of the Angels rob Jose Bautista of a home run in 2013 that I found out that when it happens (or if a fielder goes completely into the dugout in catching a foul fly), any runners automatically take another base.

It's a good thing we have professional umpires!

Yeah! It’s almost as if because they know so many of these obscure rules, we expect them to apply the common ones with consistency

Yes, known as the "catch and carry" rule. Another easy one to remember when a ball goes out of play is one base from the mound, two bases from the field.

John McEnroe married Patty Smyth NOT Patti Smith. I remember being surprised by the news of his marriage when it originally broke, since Patti seemed a lot more cerebral than he is. But it all makes sense now.

Good Bye To You and Scandal seems much more his speed.
