I think it started with them really believing the man who slayed the Clinton family that they had so loathed since the early 1990s was going to run the country like the character he played on a reality show, and when it quickly became clear he was a con man they pivoted to glee at the performative squalor.

And at the end of the day anyone who gets the office from their side is going to do the only things they want: lower taxes and seed more doubt at the ability of government to do anything positive. It’s a low bar to clear.

Think about how much more Biden has to do to keep his party together and even get his own senators to do the barest of bare minimums.

 

I have two neighbors on my street with Shih Tzus. Both are named Gizmo. Neither owner talked to the other about it. My soon-to-be three-year old now thinks all Shih Tzus are named Gizmo.
