I'm not confident McAuliffe will win. At all. But I'm pretty sure Trump was comfortably ahead at this stage in 2020.

McAuliffe is in trouble. Youngkin is overperforming in Trump counties and McAuliffe is underperforming in Biden counties. I don't think the absentee ballots are going to be enough for McAuliffe to make up the difference.

He's seldom wrong when he calls them, because he's cautious. Looks like it shakes out something like Youngkin 51-McAuliffe 48.

Look for Joe Manchin to demand the reconciliation package be limited to one Kohl’s Cash voucher per household.

If nothing else, hopefully this is a wakeup call to Dems to get their shit together for next year and 2024.

Check out Montgomery County, home of Blacksburg and the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

    2020: Biden, plus-5.7
2021: Youngkin, plus-21.2 (with 88.9 percent of the votes in)

Even if absentees favor the Democrats, that's going to end up as a 20-to-24-percentage-point swing.

Also ... Henrico, with 96.8 percent of the vote in, went from Biden +29.1 to McAuliffe +6.3.

That's what you get, Democrats, for nominating a tired old Clinton acolyte.

Terry McAuliffe was getting ready to win this election. Frankly, he did win this election.
