Clinton also pushed for mass incarceration with the Crime Bill, failed to take any steps to prevent the genocide in Rwanda, compromised on gays in the military and the whole healthcare debacle.

The progressive position is close to open borders. In multiple debates Beto - no Republican - was baffled by his opponents cheerful push for virtually no security at all.

Shrugging of shoulders? Some of them were outright hostile. They mocked their grief. They called them crisis actors. They said the shootings were faked. They called the Parkland kids snowflakes because they didn't want to get shot in school. With Sandy Hook, that shit was still a bridge too far for most Republicans. By the time Parkland happened the Overton Window moved to the point where kids who survived a mass shooting were fair game for the most vile attacks imaginable. Some people here had no problem with it.

The crime bill and the gay thing were very much a product of the times.

Has this been repeated so often that we have to consider there may be some truth to it?

What was Chuck Grassley's comment on Haley's position?

I would make fun of Grassley but I've seen my mother do the same things. The puzzle pieces multiply at age 87.
He's not wise enough to hang them up, and his voters too dumb not to see they can do better.
In a world where a Jeff Fisher can't even go 8-8 anymore, Grassley staggers on as senator.

In the meantime, Biden continues to corral as many people at the border as Trump.

I don't think we'll be seeing open borders soon.

California Tries to Close the Gap in Math, but Sets Off a Backlash

“The California guidelines, which are not binding, could overhaul the way many school districts approach math instruction. The draft rejected the idea of naturally gifted children, recommended against shifting certain students into accelerated courses in middle school and tried to promote high-level math courses that could serve as alternatives to calculus, like data science or statistics.

The draft also suggested that math should not be colorblind and that teachers could use lessons to explore social justice — for example, by looking out for gender stereotypes in word problems, or applying math concepts to topics like immigration or inequality.”

This and Defund Police are why republicans will win in 2022 and 2024. “Progressives/Activists of Color” are deaf and blind to the concerns tens of millions of working families who don’t look like them.

There was actually a movement to actually take money away from police or disband police departments, the rightwing doesn’t have to make it up. The left actually wants to slow down the education of white and Asians to allow minorities to catch up is test scores, or reduce white and asian test scores so all kids are equally uneducated.
