Nuclear Is Hot, for the Moment

“I think – I think, for me, nuclear is just the power, the devastation is very important to me.”

As a former NYC bartender, I'm pretty sure AOC knows how to deliver an effective kick to the balls. She should do so the next time she runs into Gosar.

Wages are also up about 5.9%. Thus real inflation is less than 1%

The New Yorker had a good piece on cold fusion last month…that carrot that’s been dangling a few inches from our nose for a good 100 years now. Seems like we’re still 50 years away.

It's the way forward in terms of energy and climate change. The US has pooh-poohed it, so far.

    This is terrible news.

We should cut taxes on the wealthy, slash government spending, and stop the spread of CRT to fix the problem.

Until we solve the issue of where to put the radioactive spent rods, there's not much way forward. It's a real issue.

Even with both issues in play, it's better than coal/gas and more realistic than wind/solar.

We're going to run out of space on the wind/solar equation - or we'd have to do something draconian, like mass eminent domain in the name of saving the planet. There are people who wouldn't mind that.

Nuclear is a big part of any serious plan. So is a sheer reduction in globalism. So is an honest conversation about energy consumption as it relates to our devices.

    Wait. What? Explain.

"Globalism" is just the market getting bigger.

Sure: A thousand years ago you sold stuff to your neighbors. 200 years ago you put your stuff on flat boats and took it down to the major port to sell. 100 years ago you started using trains to ship your stuff to another part of the country.

Today you put your stuff on a web site, anyone around the world can shop it, and you can ship it rapidly.

How exactly do we "reduce globalism" when we have been on a slow inevitable march towards the global marketplace for about the last 2000 years?
