People vastly overestimate the quality of most judges and trial lawyers.

 

So I'm told. I was fact checking something that JD Vance said and that's what turned up.

 

I remember that, on the Jetsons, verdicts were decided by a computer judge (the Jury-Vac). It decided to give Astro back to his original owner who had named him Tralfaz. Luckily, Astro finally ended back with the Jetsons.

But that was a civil, not criminal, trial and it will happen sometime in the future.
