At first I read this headline as “Prep sports reporter killed for banging his mom” and I was like gee that escalated quickly

So, there's an opening for a prep reporter position with BANG?

I would guess they will not fill the position. It is a Digital First paper. And I am not being a smartass with this post. Digital First owns the Denver Post which I subscribe to. The Post does have a full-time prep reporter as far as I can tell. Kyle somebody was the number two Rockies reporter and would do some preps in the of-season. But he appears to be the number two Bronco reporter and I don't know if anyone is doing preps.

Well, that was a jarring read for many reasons. Homicides in tony suburban Walnut Creek are quite rare. I remember one in the early '70s not far from our house, and we always referred to it as the "murder mansion" while riding by on our bikes.

My first job as a senior in high school was writing community sports shorts for the CCT. And when I worked in radio about six years later, I lived on Jones Road, which parallels the BART tracks and is basically where the majority of the newer apartments and condos were (which means they're close to 40 years old). The Pleasant Hill BART station is at the corner of Oak Road and Treat Blvd., just a few blocks away.

I would have bet -- and lost -- that she was a Rossmoor Retirement Community resident. Not many people in that age bracket can afford to live in Walnut Creek, whether alone or with her son.

I knew he as being sarcastic. And I started to type a sarcastic replay, but then I thought about it and I believe BANG management will use this opportunity to cut costs.
