I guess that whole "thou shalt not kill" thing was only a recommendation and not a commandment.

That is just so strange. It’s not a game and there should be every appearance of neutrality.

Really? We're going to go there about child sexual abuse? Rosenbaum shouldn't have died at the hands of Porky Piglet, but I could probably put one between his eyes and then go get a bowl of vegan pho in East Nasty without an elevation of my heartbeat until the peppers kicked in. Yeah, yeah, he did his time and all that horseshit. The people he raped will most likely be doing their time for being in the wrong place at the wrong time for the rest of their lives. I spent too many years cleaning up the messes people like him make. Those motherfuckers cannot be rehabilitated.

I used a pen name because I didn't want a former patient coming across my real name and getting triggered. Rittenhouse and his mother are trash, as is anyone who kills for the hell of it, but don't try to mitigate his victim's criminal past.

As I said before, if you want to say Rosenbaum should have received a longer sentence, maybe even life without parole or a state-sanctioned execution, I'll listen to that argument. I may even agree with it. It's a very serious crime, perhaps in the top two.

If he re-offended, he should probably have spent the rest of his life in prison.

In this case, Rosenbaum's criminal history is irrelevant. It doesn't make his murder justifiable nor is it a mitigating factor. In fact, if Rittenhouse knew about it, that would be premeditation.

It's not karma. It's not justice that the state was unwilling or unable to provide for his victims. It's murder. He is the victim.

The conduct of the Republic requires us to hold two powerful thoughts in opposition.

    1. Rosenbaum was a monster.

    2. It was wrong for Rittenhouse to kill him.
