If I'm not mistaken, Rosenbaum drove 51 miles to Kenosha, with a gun.

Within the very narrow - and nonsensical - limits of what was being tried, yes.

But I think a society condoning any of this is in terrible, terrible trouble.

His hometown of Antioch, Ill., is 21 miles from Kenosha according to Google Maps. Antioch is right on the Illinois-Wisconsin state line. He testified he has a number of relatives (including his father) who live in Kenosha, he had a part time job in Kenosha, and the gun was stored in Kenosha.

Correct. I'm pointing out that one of the people Rittenhouse killed drove even further than he did, with a gun. Doesn't matter anymore ... 2 dead, 1 with half an arm, 1 free as a bird tonight.

One of the things with self defense cases is that they are by definition very narrow and sometimes nonsensical. The definition of self defense can literally change second to second. It's actually part of why it seems Rittenhouse was acquitted.
He had a brief armed standoff with Grosskreutz (the paramedic who had the gun and got his bicep blown off). Rittenhouse did not shoot right away, or when Grosskreutz retreated. Then Grosskreutz made a move and points his gun at Rittenhouse, and Rittenhouse fired. If Rittenhouse had shot Grosskreutz when Grosskreutz was retreating with his hands up, he's guilty as hell of murder. But since Grosskreutz pointed the gun at him, creating an imminent threat, Rittenhouse was defending himself. All of this happened in a few seconds, mind you.
It's similar to how if you shoot a burglar inside your home, in most states it's cut-and-dried self defense. If you shoot them on the lawn as they're leaving, it's murder.

I'm not condoning what any of them did. Personally, like I said, I don't think Grosskreutz, Huber and Jump Kick Man were entirely wrong to attack Rittenhouse given what they likely thought. If Grosskreutz had shot Rittenhouse we might be arguing the same semantics about his trial.

My mistake. I read that as Rittenhouse, not Rosenbaum.

George Zimmerman laughs in your face. I’m surprised no one has attempted to find a Second Amendment solution for that situation.

Oh they have. He's just never there when the shooting starts.

    Understood.

But there were plenty of police and National Guard on the ground in Kenosha that night.

And Kyle Rittenhouse was making them - and everyone else in Kenosha - less safe.

You could make that argument. It was obviously a bad decision to go there in the first place. But that was not what he was on trial for, and frankly is irrelevant to the case. Pretty much everyone on the streets of Kenosha that night made the same bad decision.

Sure. But only Rittenhouse killed two people and wounded a third.

Again, any society producing outcomes like this is in deep trouble.
