Suspect named: Darrell Brooks identified as Waukesha Christmas parade suspect

 

According to court records, Brooks was freed 11/19 on $1,000 cash bail after being charged with resisting or obstructing; 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety (a felony); misdemeanor battery (domestic abuse) and felony bail jumping.

I'm no fan of the MacIver Institute, but this tragedy seems to vindicate this study that the institute released a couple years ago:
Charges of murder and child rape not enough to keep defendants behind bars

 

And as a bonus:

A law enforcement official told The Washington Post that suspect Darrell Brooks, 39, was at the scene of a reported knife fight, then sped away in the red SUV when police arrived at that scene. Brooks was allegedly behind the wheel when it drove into the parade route.​

Real winner there.

So it sounds like the whole thing was some sort of colossal coincidence and there was no political motivation on the part of the killer?

Not that that will stop the Q-OANN's of the world from blathering on about BLM.

 

The state circuit court website shows Brooks as the defendant in a lengthy paternity/nonsupport case in Waukesha County that apparently heated up recently. Records show that Brooks was in the Waukesha County Jail on 11/16.

 

So police types were leaking last night. Guy on CNN said he wouldn't be surprised if the guy was driving away from a knife fight. What a coincidence!
