America certainly needs more podcasting galaxy brains who don't understand journalism.

I noticed that the police chief specified that this was not a terrorist act, but the women this guy has terrorized over the years would probably disagree.

That bozo isn’t even properly accessorized.

    No hat, no hate.

Really liked him on Horace and Pete's.

Was bummed to learn he's a Trumper.

The same guys complaining about why the press didn't print Brooks' name as soon as it flashed on Twitter this morning were the ones applauding Eastwood when he condemned the media rush-to-judgment in 'Richard Jewell.'

    Derp.

Because I have a desire to hit my head on the keyboard, I did a search for the crash and suspect on Twitter last night. Man it was maddening. There is no way as a news organization you could look at that info and determine what was close to legit. Did some people actually have it right? Yes, but it was all over the place. Then you throw in the political shitstorm going on, especially in Wisconsin, and it was just a sad, bizare world of ridiculous information.

My question is why were the police so slow in releasing info. You get something like this come across your precinct, you announce an arrest and no reason to look for another subject faster than you can say Jack Robinson. If I was an investigative reporter, I would be curious to see if he was being chased.

No real reason. Just a hunch.

OK, just read a little more. No chase but shots fired? CYA delay.

When I saw the video, my first thought was that he was driving like he was being chased.

And the pure fact that he passed the marching band without bowling them over gave me the feeling it wasn't a terrorist/political thing. He could have wiped out hundreds had he tried, which is a scary enough concern for any copycats.

But doesn’t that basically reinforce their argument?

Their point is not that the media has a blanket policy of releasing names too soon or too late, instead it’s a claim that it allows political bias to influence when it’s done (ie. less cautious when the name fits a left wing narrative than one on the right). The examples you cited seem to align with that view.

I’m fascinated by how quick we are to see political motives these days. Sometimes bad things are done in the name of nothing other than bad.
