No, I believe she is #2. Wilson's presidency ended in 1921, she lived 40 more years until 1961. I think Lady Bird Johnson (1969-2007), 38 years is #3.

Was it Julia Tyler? She was practically a child bride when she became Tyler’s second wife. (And the fact that Tyler still has a living grandson is my favorite piece of presidential trivia.)

Who won two Pulitzer's, a Bronze Star on D-Day despite being a non-combatant, won a Nobel Prize, and set a world record by catching 7 marlins in one day?

Hemingway? But as I type that I think he was more involved in the Spanish Civil War.

Yep. It was pretty easy. He was involved in WWI (decorated) and Spain, so you are most correct.

How are Don King, a bomb and porn all linked together and why would I teach this to students?

Julia Tyler died in 1889, 44 years after John Tyler left the White House (1845).

The First Lady who lived the longest after leaving the White House was Frances Cleveland, the 21-year-old bride of Grover Cleveland. His second term ended in 1897; she lived until 1947, or 50 more years.

Damn. So my cheating guess of Sarah Polk was not right either. She lived 42 years after.

Trick question. You wouldn’t. You’d be having parents at school board meetings screaming that you’re teaching pornography, violence, and Critical Ripoff Theory to kids.

And she’ll need to live to 105 to break the mark o_O
