Also, it didn’t occur to me until my mother-in-law mentioned it to me tonight that this was my son’s first MCU/action movie in a theater. Normally, he needs to go to the bathroom at least once, maybe twice, in any movie. I think it’s mostly because he can’t still for that long.

Today, he sat through five trailers, commercials, a 2hr 30m film and two post credit scenes before finally running to the bathroom. He was riveted. It was fun to watch him.

I think they wanted to focus the threat characters coming from outside the MCU. Also, they already had a lot going on, so I'm not sure they needed Vulture. There is a Liz Allen Easter Egg in the movie, though it is really tough to spot. I only know about it from a YouTube video.

I thought there was at least some chance that talk of Garfield and Maguire was all a fake-out, but I'm glad it wasn't. They were woven into the story beautifully.

My daughter's reactions were definitely part of the fun of the movie. It was such perfect timing that this came out the weekend after she came home for winter break. Watching her try to figure out why the crowd reacted to Charlie Cox was funny, and she got excited every time a new villain or hero appeared, even the ones that had been spoiled in the trailers.

Speaking of reactions, I'm not sure how long this one will be up on YouTube, but...

Because Vulture is already in MCU NYC and doesn’t have his weapons together I guess.

Just showed my wife and she hasn't cared about ANY MCU movie...now she wants to go see this one.
Showed it to my son, who watches ALL the MCU movies, and he kept making me pause it to explain things. LOL

That would be my guess. Although it would have been cool. He showed up in the Morbius trailer, no?

Pretty much exactly how my first viewing was. As said here, a very fun and cool experience with this. One I honestly wasn't really expecting.

Still think it was interesting the other Spider-Man reveals didn't get it the second time, but again, mostly kids. My 10-year-old had no idea, but he wasn't confused. I thought he might be. My wife asked a Tobey Spider-Man question, and we saw the movies together in the theater, and I rolled my eyes hard. She was like, it's been 20 years! I guess, still rolling my eyes.

The only time I remember seeing a movie with an audience as enthusiastic as the one last week when I saw "No Way Home" was when I saw "Transformers" on opening night. Similar experience, with people cheering when characters showed up and during big moment. "Endgame" had some of that toward the end, but it wasn't the same as the other two.

I thought No Way Home had an Endgame feel to it, in part because it both do have those big fan reaction moments. They are also both endings of a sort. One interpretation I've heard is that this was the third part of a trilogy that acts as an origin story for this version of Spider-Man, with Aunt May taking on Uncle Ben's traditional role. It does make some sense given that they downplayed his traditional origin. It's a hell of a lot darker, though, because it leaves Peter completely alone.
