The TV thread

I finally started watching Billions and greatly enjoyed it for a while. Now, watching the fourth season, I find all of the main characters unlikeable. Maybe that's the point, but it doesn't make me want to watch anymore.

 

I’m feeling the same about Succession.

I’m a game show guy and watched this once. It was pretty simple and bland.

Station Eleven on HBO Max. Highest recommendation. When do the final three eps drop? Just binged the last four and am left wanting more.

 

Based on the book? That would be a great series, especially during the COVID era.

 

It is, mhm. It's getting rave reviews from the TV podcast I listen to, The Watch.

 

It is. Mackenzie Davis is great, as is holy-shit-is-that-Lori-Petty-from-Point-Break? I love the structure of the episodes, the flashbacks and how they tie into what the people are going through today. It certainly addresses the pandemic event, but it's not necessarily a show about a pandemic event like Contagion was a movie specifically about navigating a pandemic event. If that makes sense.

And greenwell, love The Watch, and I've discovered some good new shows through Chris and Andy's recs, notably Industry last year.

 

I don't have Paramount Plus, so I've tried watching it on Paramount or CMT when they've showed it. I've seen the first two episodes, and enjoyed it immensely. I just have to find a way to continue watching it.

Yeah, life pretty much sucked back then.

 

I binge-watched Season 4 of Cobra Kai over the weekend. Great stuff.
