The New York Daily News has substantial pension fund liabilities. Mort Zuckerman sold the paper to the Tribune Company for $1 and the assumption of liabilities. Evidently the Post prints in a non-union plant and presumably caps their pension liability. The employees will get whatever pensions they have accrued to date but no further pension benefits.

I keep checking my upcoming $750/month Tribune pension every two weeks to make sure it's still there.
