Jesus could have built a pretty impressive wine business with very low manufacturing costs.

Thinking of that really bad 80s movie with Sean Connery ... "The Name of the Rose" ... in which a backstory was an in-process bishops debate: "Did Christ own his clothes?"

It was my understanding there would be no Bible study during this debate.

This (and the last page or so) is why I spend more time here than at church.

Pretty great novel. Pretty bad movie.

Far as I know, Jesus borrowed his tools from his dad.

And Jesus' Son, by Denis Johnson, is an outrageously good story collection.

Buddhist friend told me a story recently.

Guy says "man what happened to the good people in the US following Christian values?"

Buddy responds, "wait, Christians are not the only people in the world who espouse good values."

Vast gulf between Christian’s espousing good values and living them. And just to be more precise. Most do both except to allow people of little
Moral Backbone and without living Christian faith to be in positions of leadership. They elect scum and villainous slime like trump and McConnell and Cruz and the Republican Nazis.

I've been an Episcopalian a LONG time and cannot recall ever hearing the word "Protestant" from the pulpit. Now "Anglo-Catholic" (or some version thereof), that's another matter ...

Any lingering talk of 'high church' / 'low church'?
